An Appeal From Our World Our Say: PRESS TONY BLAIR TO CALL FOR AN IMMEDIATE CEASEFIRE I have sent a letter to Mr Blair about the Israeli attacks of Lebanon and thought that some of you may also wish to do so. Just click the link below. Thank you, Clive   ———————————————————————————- Dear campaignersSorry for contacting you again so soon, but we feel sure you will understand why we are doing so. We are writing to you again now to ask you to press the Prime Minister to break with the US and join the rest of the world in calling for an immediate ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah.  Despite the terrible attack on Qana, where 54 Lebanese civilians were killed, he is still resisting calls for an immediate ceasefire. Let Tony Blair know how wrong he is by sending him a message now via www.owos.info/lebano… Pressure must build on him throughout this week. Your message will go straight through to the Downing Street web site, which keeps a count of the issues people bring up.  He needs to be deluged with tens of thousands of messages to build the pressure on him as the UN put a resolution together for a ceasefire. The Israeli response to Hezbollah’s illegal and unjustifiable actions has been completely disproportionate – and it is Lebanese civilians who are bearing the brunt of the attacks. Tony Blair must break with George Bush and the US administration – who have given Israel a “green light” to continue their brutal attack on Lebanon. We must also not forget that Gaza is getting the same treatment, but there is hardly a mention in the press. The response we had to our appeal for donations to fund national adverts in the press was fantastic and we were able to place ads in the Daily Mirror, The Times, The Daily Telegraph, The Observer, TheIndependent, The Scotsman, The Belfast Telegraph and The Irish News. As more money comes in, we will continue to place further press ads, so thank you to everyone who has donated. There were many very heartfelt comments with the donations, including several from people who have loved ones in Lebanon.  Our thoughts are with the civilians of Lebanon and Gaza, who are experiencing the Israeli attack and civilians in Israel who are under attack from Hezbollah. Now is the time to demand that Tony Blair joins worldwide calls for an immediate ceasefire.  He is answerable to us – not the President of the United States or Israel. Join our campaign now atwww.owos.info/leba… help deluge him with messages. We need to build the pressure through this week for real action at the UN. Thank you again, Tim, Rob, Simone, Ros, MikeThe Our World Our Say team To make a donation to our Lebanon campaign please go
