www.express.co.uk/po… GORE FILM IS ‘BIASED’   ‘BIASED’: Al Gore’s film An Inconvenient Truth Wednesday October 3,2007 By Jessica Johnson for express.co.uk Have your say(0) Al Gore’s climate-change documentary An Inconvenient Truth promotes “partisan political views”, a High Court judge said today. Normally that would almost certainly make it unlawful for the Oscar-winning film to be shown to schools. But Mr Justice Burton indicated that it can be shown if teachers follow new guidance to prevent the former US vice-president’s views being wrongly “promoted” to children.Changes to the old guidance notes were rushed through by the Government this week after father-of-two Stewart Dimmock, a Kent school governor and a member of political group the New Party, asked the court to ban the film from the classroom.Mr Dimmock says the film is unfit for schools because it is politically partisan and contains serious scientific inaccuracies, as well as “sentimental mush”.His lawyers accused the Government and New Labour “Thought Police” of backing the film as a way of “brainwashing” pupils on global warming.Today, after a four-day hearing, the judge said he intended to give his judgment next week – but indicated what his ruling would be because of the urgent need of schools to know in what circumstances they can show the film.
