My daughter alerted me to this strange chemrtail merged with thick cloud. It persisted for quite some minutes, but I didn’t measure it. I wonder if anyone wants to explain it as an ordinary contrail…. The images are un-retouched, apart from being reduced to 1024 x 768 resolution. We seem to have been seeing a lot of thick cloud, with sort of “luminous patches” – stormy looking skies – but with still air rather than storm conditions. Another example was this.
