Apologies to those of you who were ready to watch the programme tonight at 8. Unfortunately, it was decided not to go ahead because, despite the lengthy efforts of the guys at Edge Media, they could not get phone/studio/Skype audio to work without feedback. So, they re-ran the Brian Haw programme. There were only 3 people to run the whole studio and they hadn’t done a Skype/phone and studio link up for quite a long time. (They also used to have more students etc to help out, but at this time that is no longer the case.) The chap who originally set up the audio (which is complicated as I went to have a look and to try and help out) has since left the organisation and some of the plugs/wiring have been moved around. The main problem seemed to be feeding the Skype audio into the studio area so that we could hear it – when they did this, they kept getting feedback. I am not sure if they tested this part earlier today – I think they had tested everything but that, so weren’t aware of the feedback problem (which made it impossible to use the audio set up). Theo Chalmers decided not to go ahead with the broadcast because he wanted to involve Dr Judy Wood and John Hutchison from the start and make sure he was sure of his running times. We have therefore tried to re-schedule for 4 weeks time – Thurs 25th February. Unfortunately, for me, it was 160-mile round trip – so I hope the next time I do it, it ends up the way it was meant to. Not all of this may be broadcast, as Theo wanted to do things in a different order, though I hope to discuss this with him, especially as we will be trying to present a lot of information in a short time.
