Julian Assange turned himself in to UK custody this Tuesday and he’s being held without bail. This interview with Assange was conducted in July 2010, following Wikileaks’ coordinated release through the mainstream media of shocking footage and audio taken from two US military chopper’s recording devices. The recordings reveal a deranged killing spree by US pilots as they gleefully shoot two dozen innocent Iraqi civilians to death, including two Reuters photographers. The US has voiced the desire to extradite him to America and to put him away for life, even though the bulk of the content he’s revealed actually *supports* the objectives of the US War Machine far more than it does anything else. Assange may well be the classic government patsy, whose WikiLeaks enterprise was enabled by US intelligence so he could be made into an example; to usher in a new era of Internet censorship and the refocusing of US war efforts towards Pakistan and Iran.
