In 1977, the Brazilian Air Force was sent to the island of Colares during a wave of UFO sightings and attacks, where several residents were struck by intense beams of radiation, that left burn marks and puncture wounds and led to two deaths. The investigation was classified for 20 years. In 1997, the retired colonel who’d been in charge of that investigation met with ufologists, AJ Gevaerd and Marco Petit and gave a videotaped testimony of his own sightings during the operation and he showed a cutaneous implant of about half an inch in length, which appeared at that time.
