I sent this photo around to my e-mail list and someone else responded saying they had photographed the same thing on the same day, from a few miles away. This 2nd person also sent me additional bizarre photos of “distrails” they had photographed on 18 Aug 2012. All these photos can be seen by clicking on the images below.
