I’d agree wholeheartedly there Ben; and in today’s celebrity-obsessed culture it could be argued that a celeb’s opinion counts for more with the masses. So, if it was possible for a celeb to take a ‘truth stance’ in the public arena, it could potentially have greater leverage. But as we know, the control system runs deep. For example, I recall a report that a well known British recording artist, now a resident of LA, had been reading and responding to Robert Green’s website re Hollie Greig; however their handlers had dissuaded him/her from ‘coming out’ in support of the cause. And that was the last we heard about that. We can only guess at the coercive tactics that are employed in order to keep celebs (and, no doubt, journalists) in check. When I look at the ever-present symbology that pervades the music videos on TV, I often wonder if the recording artists have any ‘say’ in what is put out in their name, and what they could do to stop it even if they wanted to? Do they even comprehend it? Do they ‘sign up’ for it? Is it part of ‘the deal’? It is all too easy for the media to make a celebrity/artist appear foolish or ‘mentally unstable’ in the public eye should they step out of line and start asking questions. Charlie Sheen.
