My first thought was it’s a shame Colin Pillinger didn’t live to see it. I rather liked him; he had a down-to-earthness about him that is rare among media scientists, at least in this post-Brian Cox world. But, no, it may well be faked. Could be a good sign. Enough people are watching the Richplanet show to make the gatekeepers worried. I don’t buy the story of the “shadow of a man on Mars” that’s been circulating lately. It may be muddying the waters, either accidentally or deliberately.
