This came up on the Mind Set Podcast yesterday. You’d think they could bring us better pictures in this day and age. The Mars films and photoes are far better quality and Mars is 100 times further away than the moon. The comparison with the Apollo TV footage is that the resolution of the imagery is about 50 years behind what we’d expect. Apollo looks like an early Charlie Chaplin comedy. The media only accessed it via camera set up at mission control filming the screen! And we can’t see the original because… they lost it???
