This story was discussed in the video below (currently only available to UK people, but likely it will get clipped out and reposted on YouTube soon enough) www.guardian.co.uk/u… From: visions1@talktalk.ne… Subject: BBC TV, UFO statement To: giuliano.marinkovic@… Date: Sunday, 22 March, 2009, 9:56 AM Hi Giuliano On BBC TV – the Andrew Marr Show – a few minutes ago a former Conservative MP was commenting on a newspaper report shown on screen from one of today’s Sunday papers about UFO files being released. Jonathan Aitkin made some remark that he was very interested in this because it involved a time when I think he said he was Defence Minister. He made remarks to the effect that UFOs should be treated more seriously. news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/… www.bbc.co.uk/iplaye… He is not the best spokesman for the truth because he served a jail sentence for perjury and perverting the course of justice following the collapse of his libel case against the Guardian and News of the World newspapers. But the remark was made with some seriousness and Andrew Marr asked him if the subject should be taken seriously and he agreed – even though the item ended with a joke. The program will be available to watch soon for one week on the BBC i Player but it is not available outside the country. My computer is down at present – on a borrowed one – so I don’t have a recorder on this one. I suggest you get one of your UK contacts to record this show for posterity. The item is near the beginning of the show when the panel are discussing today’s newspapers. I will also try to get a friend to record this show but just in case I can’t I am passing it to you. Keep up the good work Dave Haith
