Which is it an audio tape or video tape? The BBC have obviously used the information for their article from the Al-Jazeera news agency, as some of the wording is similar, and the BBC also have the Al Jazeera website linked at the side of the articles page as a related internet link. Now we know they are both on about the same new Bin Laden message just released, but spot the difference between the BBC’s version and Al Jazeeras. This is the Al Jazeeras version: Website posts Bin Laden audio tape Friday 30 June 2006, 6:56 Makka Time, 3:56 GMT english.aljazeera.ne… Now for the BBCs version, which mentions a personal message to Dictator Bush: New ‘Bin Laden message’ released Friday, 30 June 2006, 05:29 GMT 06:29 UK news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/… Now I have a few points a few things that seem to be contradicting to what is in the message: 1. Al Jazeera state that the authenticity of the tape could not be immediately verified Yet the BBC state The recording’s authenticity has not been verified Now going by the times between the articles released, about 2 hrs, I doubt whether the CIA or MI5 can work that quick at authenticating the message. 2. The BBC state it was a video taped message but the Al Jazeera website states that it was an audiotape. 3.The BBC seemed to have found a message to Dictator Bush in bin ladens message that Al Jazeera did see or hear. The BBC version states Bin Laden addresses US President George W Bush, warning him not to be “too happy” about Zarqawi’s death, “for the banner [of al-Qaeda in Iraq] hasn’t dropped but has passed from one lion of Islam to another lion”. Yet Al Jazeera has no mention of this Why? Is it because the BBC are using this to prove, on the Governments behalf, that Al Qaeda are real or is it Al Jazeera trying to play down the contents of the message, you can decide that one. Neither mention the actual website the message was released on, why this is I do not know, could be the website is not one that is used by Al Qaeda but rather the CIA and that they do not want any traffic to the site as this may give the game away.
